  1. I have recently changed to a Paleo lifestyle – one concern I have is the high fat content, how do you handle that? I talked to a nutritionist and she said one of hardest parts of losing weight on a Paleo diet is the high fat, thoughts?

    • Paleo definitely champions fat- you are right there. But they emphasize choosing healthy fats and the right fats. I’m going to direct you to one of my favorite resources created by Diane Sanfilippo about choosing cooking fats.       Also keep in mind- every body is different. And I wouldn’t focus on how eating fat might prevent you from losing fat. Some people respond really well to getting more of their daily calories from fat and protein than carbohydrates. You have to find the balance of those macro-nutrients that works best for you. If you think you are eating too much fat, just try to incorporate at least 1 moderate serving of fat in each of your three daily meals. So for example: 1 tbl. of coconut oil, 1 tbl. olive oil, or 1/2 of an avocado. Prioritize those types of fats over nuts and seeds as its much easier to overeat those snacky type foods. I’ve found great success cutting out the 1/4 cup of nuts I would eat every afternoon as a snack and instead replacing it with some leftover protein (2-3 oz.) + veggies.
